Expanded Eye’s Abstract Tattoos will Expand Your Mind

Art duo Expanded Eye work with a variety of media. They create illustrations, street art paste-ups and tattoos. Jade Tomlinson and Kev James work together to create their art works, merging contemporary art styles and ideas with classic illustrative techniques to create tattoo designs that are a blend of old and new.

Some of their tattoos are esoteric in nature, while others are surreal, fantastic or simply bizarre. Each of their abstract tattoo designs is created to be unique to the client. The artists build the designs out of the client’s stories, hopes and fantasies to create individual tattoos for individual people. The meaning of the tattoo is very clear, and personal, to the tattoo wearer, but the symbolism of the tattoo might be quite obscure to anyone who doesn’t know the tattoo wearer well. This means that Expanded Eye’s tattoos are a way for people to wear their secrets on their skin.
Their designs are made up of a variety of textures, which means that the tattoo artists need to have a variety of skills to create the different textures as well as the strong, smooth linework that is a feature of their designs.

Expanded Eye work out of London in the United Kingdom. You can contact them through their website or on Facebook to book a session with them. Take note that they won’t design a tattoo for you that you can take to another tattoo artist – they reserve the right to tattoo their own designs.
