Carlox Angarita was born and raised in Santander, Colombia. As a child he had a passion for video games and comic books; childhood pastimes that he expressed his love for by drawing fan art and creating his own characters. As he grew older he took to drawing portraits of the people around him; especially teachers and students in his class. This creative hobby alleviated the boredom that the young Angarita felt during school sessions and inspired him to pursue his artistic talents. As a teenager, Angarita was introduced to the world of tattoo art by a friend who showed off his newly acquired tattoo. Inspired by this new-found art technique, Carlox Angarita used a home-built tattoo machine to give himself and his friends tattoos.

Angarita is a self-taught tattoo artist who never completed an apprenticeship in a tattoo studio or received instruction from a teacher. He has created his own style based on trial and error, perseverance and his passion for tattoos. Carlox Angarita’s tattoos are photo realistic and yet they have an essence of the artist within them. Anagarita says he often puts a lot of emotion into his work which creates a different effect in each tattoo.

Carlox Angarita works at his own studio in Bogotá, Colombia. You can contact him through his Facebook page.
