Brazilian tattoo artist Gregorio Marangoni uses hundreds of tiny dots to create this tattoo design of a geometric optical illusion. The illusion relies on light and dark areas to appear 3D. Marangoni creates these light and dark areas by clustering more dots in an area to make a dark shade and grouping fewer tattoo dots to create a light shade.
A shape like this one is called an impossible object because while it can exist in drawings or tattoos, it can’t exist in real life as a 3D shape.
