Vitaly Morozov is a tattoo artist based in Moscow, Russia. He doesn’t make a lot of noise about himself online, obviously preferring to allow his work to speak for itself. And perhaps he has earned the right to remain silent, because his tattoo sketches and designs speak very loudly indeed. Morozov’s tattoo designs are packed with esoterica, spirituality and symbolism. Portraits of shamans, gods and goddesses, mythical animals and beautiful zombies abound in his portfolio which has a sense of dark, seductive magic about it.
Morozov favors black ink with the three primary colors; red, blue and yellow bringing a splash of color to the drawings. For the most part, his tattoos designs feature either a gray scale or gray scale with red highlights.
Shown below is a selection of his esoteric tattoo sketches, to give you inspiration for a Morozov tattoo of your own. Each drawing seems to be filled with as much mystery and magic as their secretive creator. You can contact the artist, Vitaly Morozov, through Facebook or follow him there for more updates.
- Vitaly Morozov draws a stunning Goddess for this black and red tattoo design. The sketch features paisley patterns and intricate pearl jewelry, neither of which compare to the beauty of the woman, whose eyes seem to pierce your very soul…
- This majestic lion, drawn and painted by Vitaly Morozov, is the king of the beasts, complete with crown and royal bunting. True to MOrozov’s style, there is something just a little sinister about this sketch. The king is supposed to protect his followers, but this king is a predator who looks ready for violence at any moment…
- A beautiful girl presents you with a key in this harrowing tattoo sketch by Vitaly Morozov. Her eyes, in particular, seem to warn of some kind of danger to come and you’re left wondering if taking the key from her is a good idea or a bad idea.
There is an element of Japanese influence in this design, seen in the use of red and black inks and the Japanese-style hair adornments.
- This esoteric wolf tattoo sketch by Vitaly Morozov shows the dark beast holding a magical key in its teeth. The wolf appears demonic, with its third eye, sharp horns and glowing eyes, but perhaps it is simply a representation that in life, the best things are earned through hardship and through facing your own, inner demons.
- A cursed queen is both bird and beautiful woman in this fantasy tattoo sketch by Vitaly Morozov. While she is adorned with gold and jewels and luxury clothing, her flat eyes reveal her unhappiness.
- Poseidon, God of the Sea, poses powerfully in this tattoo sketch by artist Vitaly Morozov. The artist has drawn octopus tentacles into Poseidon’s hair, matching the curl and the flow of the hair with the shape of the tentacles. In his hand, Poseidon holds a crystal ball that shows the future of his people.
- Vitaly Morozov illustrates a rat with three tails hiding behind a woman’s evil but beautiful hand. This tattoo is both creepy and cute, because the rat’s shyness is endearing, but its attachment to the zombie hand is disconcerting. One wonders if the two letters, M and A, would clear up the mystery of the rat’s role in this story.
- This beautiful zombie girl drawing is a design for a tattoo by Russian artist Vitaly Morozov. The soldier girl seems to have stepped out of another dimension, one in which the dead can not just communicate with the living but actually walk around. And in the case of this soldier-turned-zombie, perhaps even shoot at people. Wouldn’t that be a new take on the old zombie films!
