Jukan is a German tattoo artist who currently works at the Stilbruch Tattoo shop in Berlin, Germany. Jukan’s body art works are intriguingly abstract and yet they contain symbolic forms that are recognizable in the real world. Human hearts, animals, hourglasses and houses are all recognizable symbols that appear in Jukan’s tattoo designs. By representing these symbols in an artistic, abstract manner, Jukan adds to the visual beauty and the meaning of the tattoo designs.
Jukan employs illustration and paint techniques in his tattoo art to create texture and aethetic appeal. Some of his tattoos appear to have been sketched and painted right onto the skin and yet these art works won’t wash off the way pen and paint would. Jukan’s clients instead get to proudly wear a work of art for the rest of their lives.
This watercolor tattoo style is becoming increasingly popular, especially in Berlin, and will hopefully set a precedent for future tattoo artists to aim for the same high level of quality and beauty in their own tattoo art styles. You can contact Jukan through his Facebook page or the Stilbruch Tattoo website.
